The Eastern Empire is one of two main settings that the Remarries Empress takes place in. Known for training and employing countless magicians, the Eastern Empire is a powerful country whose national strength is nearly equal to the Western Empire's. It is situated on the continent of Wol, one of the eight continents in the world, and is next to Hwa where the Kingdom of Luipt is located. Contact with the other empires is infrequent because of the large distance between the countries.

Imperial Family[]

Rulers[]

  • Sovieshu: The current emperor. He ruled with Navier Trovi as his first empress. Because of their strong constitution, they were considered the perfect rulers and role models before their divorce due to her perceived infertility. His second empress was Rashta Ishka, but she died shortly after their marriage. His presumed heir was her daughter Glorym, but his current heir is Princess Lari, Navier's daughter with Emperor Heinrey from the Western Empire.
  • Osis III : The late emperor. He ruled alongside his empress, a distant relative of his from House of Trovi. He abdicated from the throne when his son Sovieshu was 17, formally passing on the throne to him.
  • Osis III: The previous emperor before his son, Osis III. He was the greatest military leader that the Eastern Empire has ever had.

Distant Relatives[]

  • Rylan Roth: Grand Duke of Winchester and next in line to succeed the throne in the event that Sovieshu does not produce an heir. though it is widely accepted that his son, Lord Scherl, would take the throne in his place.
  • Scherl Roth: Heir to the Grand Duke of Winchester and the second in line to succeed the throne in the event that Sovieshu does not produce an heir, though it is widely believed he will be the first in line instead.

Properties[]

  • Imperial Palace: The residence of the Imperial Family, their aides, and their guests. It is a very large and extravagant palace that can be easy to get lost in. The deposed empress, Navier, designed the garden's layout and made sure to make a secluded area where she could sit while listening to the nobles gossip.
    • East Palace: The residence of the Emperor.
    • West Palace: The residence of the Empress, Princes and Princesses.
    • North Palace: The administration area for goverment affairs
    • South Palace: The residence for distinguished guests, mostly foreign powers, high-ranking nobles, or imperial favorites.
  • Crystal Mansion: A small mansion near the imperial palace that was used to house the emperor's harem. Since the current emperor, Sovieshu, does not have the countless concubines the previous emperors had, the mansion is now rented out to nobles for events.
  • Imperial Villa: The vacation home for the Imperial Family. Although not as large as the main palace, it is good for getting away from the hustle of everyday life.

Nobility[]

The House of Trovi is a noble household in the Eastern Empire with the rank of Duke. Many former empresses have been daughters of this house, including the late empress mother and Empress Navier. Its current heir is Lord Kosair.

The House of Tuania is a noble household in the Eastern Empire with the rank of Duke. They are notably surrounded by drama following the suicide of the original heir, Lord Marius, rumored to have an affair with his younger brother's ex-wife, Lady Nian.

The House of Carren is an old family who, although still noble, has fallen out of favor with the empire after they backed the wrong candidate for the throne several generations back.

The House of Tarital is a noble household in the Eastern Empire with the rank of Marquis. The current head's daughter, Lady Laura, is one of Empress Navier's ladies-in-waiting.

The Rimwell Estate is a noble household in the Eastern Empire with the rank of Viscount. Its current head is Viscountess Lebetti. Her late father, Viscount Lotteshu blackmailed Empress Rashta (originally one of his estate's slaves) with the birth of her illegitimate children, Ian and Glorym, born from her affair with the original heir, Lord Alan. Since her funds were monitored, she bought Lotteshu's silence by giving him precious jewels she received from Emperor Sovieshu. Both of those sources of income were traceable, so she borrowed a lot of money from Ergi Claude, a duke from Blue Bohean. He demanded his loans back with interest, making her sign off a sea port to him, which caused scandal and international tensions. After Glorym's parentage was discovered, Rashta, Lotteshu and Alan were accused of treason.
