Emperor Sovieshu Vict is one of the main characters of the Remarried Empress series. He is the Emperor of the Eastern Empire.

History[]

Sovieshu was the son of Emperor Osis III from the Eastern Empire and a lady from House Trovi. Sovieshu and Lady Navier Ellie Trovi were childhood best friends, and though their future marriage was a political one, they had a good relationship. When they were children, he stole some cookies that his mother was planning to sent to Countess Sophia, his father's favorite concubine. Both he and Navier ate them, but he later learned from his mother that the cookies was laced with an abortion drug, which also had the potential to cause infertility. He then lied to his mother, stating that only he ate the cookies as he didn't want Navier to get in trouble and would never tell Navier about the incident, which would weigh on his mind for many years after.

After meeting Rashta, a runaway slave who reminded him of Navier in their youth, Sovieshu made her his concubine and wanted to make her child his heir. He became more irrational as the series went on, differing from how he was prior to her arrival. He would frequently blame Navier for showing any potential sign of disliking Rashta, would proceed to flaunt his concubine around and allow her to do as she pleased, despite ironically disagreeing with his father doing the same as a child.

Personality[]

As a child, Sovieshu was a kind and sweet boy, continuously looking out for his mother and best friend by trying to ensure they were alright and comfortable. He was also very playful, as shown in flashbacks during his time with Navier Ellie Trovi while they were young. In one incident, he even ended up injuring himself to pick peaches for Navier from a high branch to make her happy. He also teased Navier often and in return often got hit with a pillow by her. When he was older, he often sneaked out to meet Navier. He had a secret title "Sir Leedly" that he used to meet Navier in secret.

After his coronation, however, Sovieshu becomes very reserved and serious. He takes his duty very seriously and one time he falls ill due to working too much. It is mentioned that, prior to the divorce, Sovieshu was a popular emperor amongst his subjects.

In his adulthood, however, Sovieshu becomes very conceited and doesn’t like to be told that he is wrong or have things work against him. He lacks the ability to communicate with Navier to let his true feelings for her be known clearly, and often acts hypocritical and very possessive over Navier.

Physical appearance[]

Sovieshu has a wide shoulder and a fit, tall body. He has silky thick black hair that is typically slicked back except for a few missed strands. He has dark eyes in novel and sliver grey eyes in webtoon. His face has rather sharp features that can make him look either angry or terribly sad.

He is said to be incredibly handsome. Navier often describes his appearance as dashing and regal. Rashta describes him looking picturesque even when he is angry. Even Evalie, who hated him for his betrayal of Navier, admitted that he was handsome. The Dean described him having one of the most beautiful faces. It is mentioned that he has a sweet musical voice.

Relationships[]

Love Interests[]

  • Navier Trovi: The Empress of the Western Empire, Sovieshu's ex-wife and distant cousin. He and Navier had been best friends since childhood and betrothed for just as long. Despite the fact that their marriage was largely for political purposes, they had a close relationship and admiration for each other. After their coronation, they slowly drifted apart due to lack of communications from both side. He wanted her love, not just her commitment as Empress. Unbeknownst to him, Navier also loved him but didn't feel the need to tell him as she thought it was obvious. Like Sovieshu, Navier also suffers from communication skill when it comes to express personal feelings. However, he neglects and emotionally abuses Navier during the series prior to the divorce, humiliating her and falsely blaming things on her, even if he should know better. To Navier, their relationship was complex. She disliked him after their divorce but seeing him in pain also made her uneasy. She has since moved on from Sovieshu romantically, although he doesn’t feel the same. He was extremely distraught upon learning of Navier’s pregnancy, and is solemn when he discovers that her daughter looks exactly like her, as he’d dreamed of having a child that took after her.
  • Rashta: Sovieshu's second wife and former concubine. They met when Rashta was running away from the Rimwell Estate and got stuck in one of Sovieshu's hunting traps injuring her leg. Initially struck by her beauty and childlike innocence, he was blind to her faults and went to extreme lengths to defend her, alienating Navier in the process. However, she refrains from truly opening up to him and doesn't fully trust him due her past betrayal from Alan Rimwell. He eventually realizes Rashta's true personality and deceitful nature, and begins to distance himself from her. However, he was elated to learn that Rashta got pregnant, and divorced Navier so that Rashta can temporarily become his empress and her child could be the successor to his throne. Despite knowing his intentions, Rashta was convinced she would remain as Empress and would happily live with Sovieshu and Glorym in the palace. It soon becomes clear that while Rashta wholeheartedly loved Sovieshu, he did not feel as strongly about her and instead yearned for Navier. Their relationship turns completely negative after Sovieshu and Rashta take a paternity test with the baby, with the results saying that Sovieshu is not Glorym’s the biological father.
  • Spin-off ending: In recent spin-off story by the author, it is revealed that he was old and still mourning about Navier. He often spends 3-4 hours talking to Navier's portrait. Later he accidentally transfer his consciousness to a parallel timeline and stops the divorce. It surprises everyone including Navier. He tries to win Navier's heart but she doesn't believe him at first. Later she slowly realizes his love for her was earnest, not a whim. She finally forgives him and accepts his apology. In the end, it's showed that ten years have passed and they're living a blissful married life.

Family[]

  • Osis III: Sovieshu's father. Ironically, he didn't agree with his father having concubines and believed that he should stay loyal to his wife, but unlike his son, Osis believed the words of his empress over those of his mistresses.
  • Empress Mother: Soviechu and his mother are implied to have been close. She attempted to poison one of her husband's concubines with cookies laced with an abortive drug, which indirectly led to the possible infertility of her son who stole and consumed the cookies with Navier. To protect his mother's honor, he never revealed the truth about the incident, and lied that the cookies were procured by one of his father’s mistresses, Alaysia, instead. This caused confusion and conflicts with Navier in the future.
  • Kosair Trovi: Former brother-in-law. It is implied that he never quite liked Sovieshu, despite being distant relatives as well as Sovieshu being engaged to his younger sister since a young age and having been his brother-in-law for some time at the start of the story. As a child he taught Navier how to beat Sovieshu in a pillow fight. They had a formal pleasant relationship as grown up until their relationship soured due to Sovieshu taking Rashta as a concubine. Sovieshu eventually ended up exiling Kosair from the Eastern Empire after he tried to slip Rashta an abortion drug.
  • Glorym: Sovieshu was initially wholeheartedly believed to be Glorym’s father and immensely adored her, even taking it upon himself to care for her himself despite his duties. Although being born a girl, Sovieshu insists on raising Glorym as his heir to be the first female Emperor of the Eastern Empire, wishing for her to grow healthily and to be as brilliant as Navier. After the events of the paternity test, Sovieshu is distraught and does not wish to see Glorym. He later regrets this and sends troops to find her after Countess Verdi's escape. However, Glorym is assumed to be dead by Sovieshu due to her disappearance where he then mourns the loss of the only child he had ever known. Later he reunites with Glorym when she grows up.

Allies[]

  • Evalie: One of Sovieshu's mages who takes it upon himself to continue caring for Evalie after Navier moves to the Western Empire, knowing how much the girl meant to her, as well as in an attempt to impress Navier should she ever decide to return to the Eastern Empire. Despite this, Evalie does not like Sovieshu or his second wife, Rashta, due to his betrayal of Navier in the events of the divorce. However, Evalie and Sovieshu are eventually able to cultivate a civil relationship. He even consoles her at one point when she was sad about her lost family.
  • Marquess Karl: One of Sovieshu's advisors. He had a soft spot for Sovieshu, having known him since Sovieshu was a child, and often shared dinner together. Marquess Karl is notably loyal to Sovieshu throughout the story, though he often shows extreme exasperation at Sovieshu’s increasingly erratic decisions. As per the spin-off story, “Sovieshu’s Regression”, Marquess Karl seems to have stuck with Sovieshu through thick and thin, and Sovieshu expresses considerable gratitude towards him for this.
  • Dean of Academy: In the spin-off story, “Sovieshu’s Regression”, the dean of the Magical Academy at Wilwol leaves Sovieshu a seemingly ordinary pocket watch after his death. This could imply that the dean cared about Sovieshu in some capacity. However, the dean and Sovieshu are never shown interacting in any close capacity during the story, so it is unknown whether or not this was due to a genuine friendship, or simply pity at what Sovieshu’s life had become post-divorce. The pocket watch turned out to have magical properties that allowed him to access the alternate timeline in which the divorce had not yet happened.

Enemies[]

  • Viscount Lotteshu: A slave owner and former owner of Soviechu's second wife. The two do not interact often, but it is noted they do not like each other with Lotteshu thinking of Sovieshu as an arrogant youngster and Sovieshu finding Lotteshu a shady nuisance. Lotteshu is interrogated by Sovieshu numerous times throughout the series, and eventually is sentenced for allegedly conspiring/working against him alongside Rashta.
  • Duke Ergi: Duke Ergi has a long-standing grudge against Sovieshu, since it was Sovieshu who lied about Alaysia giving cookies with abortive medicine to Sovieshu’s mother, which led to Alaysia coming to Bluvohan and taking the place of Ergi’s mother. Due to this, Ergi blames Sovieshu for indirectly causing the breakup of his family. Ergi initially seemed to ally himself with Rashta at the beginning of story, though his main goal was to use her incompetence and gullibility to help destabilize the Eastern Empire’s political situation as revenge on Sovieshu.
  • Heinrey: A prince from neighboring country. He was initially plotting a war with Eastern empire, seemingly motivated by a previous war that the Eastern Empire is said to have fought against the Western Kingdom. A large part of this plan involved speeding up the natural phenomenon of mana loss by using mana stones, weakening the Eastern Emperor’s personal army of mages. Sovieshu views Heinrey as immature and a brat, much of this being due to Heinrey’s youth, as well as the fact that Heinrey is not shy about how happy he is in his marriage to Sovieshu’s ex-wife.
